Since 2012, the Walter Stöhrer Foundation has been awarding the Walter Stöhrer-Preis für Grafik alternating annually between students at the Stuttgart Academy of Fine Arts and the Berlin University of the Arts.
The exhibition at Galerie Friese showcases the 2024 award winners – students at Berlin University of the Arts, where Walter Stöhrer taught a specialist class in painting and graphic art from 1986 to 2000.
Students at the Berlin University of the Arts who had successfully passed their intermediate examinations were eligible to apply for the Walter Stöhrer Prize for Graphic Design on the recommendation of their professors. The first prize is endowed with €2,500, and two other students receive recognition awards.
